WHO WE ARE IN A NUTSHELL:
We are a dance studio who offers a safe haven for women and girls to dance in a non-judgmental environment, while building their self-esteem and becoming empowered within a professional but accessible dance environment.
We provide dance mentorship for girls 4 to 18 years old through the Atlanta S.E.E.Ds Inc® program.
We provide apprentice performance opportunities for S.E.E.Ds Students.
We provide nurturing and safe dance classes in ballet, tap, modern, step and flamenco for girls and boys.
For adults we provide the best instruction in Middle Eastern, Tribal Fusion, Latin, ATS®, fitness and Flamenco instruction with regular classes, workshops and performance opportunities.
We are a federal non-profit organization – 501(3)(c) and we do not turn a single girl between the ages of 4-18 away no matter what their socio-economic status may be.
Sanet Halck and Liezel Lane, originally from South Africa and now settled in Roswell Georgia USA, have combined their strengths and talent to run a business that has been described as a “breath of fresh air”. They have opened a global stage for young girls and women of all ages to dance, irrespective of skill, social standing, or ethnicity, by creating a safe space to experience the mystery and magic of dance.
With the support and backing of the community, this mother-daughter team promotes education in world dance, culture, music, cuisine and costuming. Their company focuses on the enhancement of the physical, emotional, and social well being of women and girls in the community.
Zaia is a life-long dancer and has embraced Oriental Dance for over 20 years. Zaia (founder) has done intense training in the Middle East, Europe, South Africa, and the USA with acclaimed and respected teachers. Liezel trained as a ballerina in the Cechetti method and has performed and taught ballet master classes as well as coached gymnastics. Liezel brings together the world of 38 years of dance and her profession as an Industrial/Organizational Psychologist and Organizational Development Consultant to help dancers understand the connection between body and mind as well as life and work.
Liezel is the owner of Global Dance, the Executive director of the 501 (c)(3) Atlanta S.E.E.Ds® Inc. program, and the leader of Atlanta P.U.R.E (Public Urban Ritual Experiment). Together with a strong team of skilled and trained assistants she prepares and teaches the young girls from Ballet, Hip Hop and Step Dance to world folkloric dance, oriental and the American Tribal Style of Belly Dance within the Atlanta S.E.E.Ds Inc. program. This program also includes self-discovery and self-actualization, provides mentorship at a very high level and prepares them for independence.
Global Dance offers classes in Flamenco, Fusion, Oriental, American Tribal Style®, Ballet, Step Dance, Hip-Hop, Drumming,Yoga, Tap and also offers workshop series like “The Romany Trail”, Sword Intensives, Rajasthani Gypsy Dance, BeanBag Bohemia and various choreographies offered by Professional Dance Instructors. We also have a state of the art “Black Box” Theatre that is equipped with the latest audio and visual equipment, lighting and backstage facilities.
